learn much more about the society. The membership form, the Museum
Store, and the archives department (still under construction) are on the
web site so you won't have to visit in person. With our calendar of
events, you'll be able to keep track of our programs and meetings. Also,
the history board and our interactive package page consists of features

Our Mission
Our Mission here at OGHS is, of course, to explain and
preserve the heritage and history of Ocean Gate and Ocean County.
However, we are also here to decumbent railroad history. We give
visitors an idea of our legacy by exhibits and memorabilia throughout
the three part Museum. We specialize our exhibits to display the
development of Ocean Gate and Ocean County with a background toward the
rail roads.

Our Plans
Our Plans have been ongoing throughout our history. As for the
next few years, we are planning integral strategic plans to promote and
restore history. Our first goal is to bring our third section of the
Museum to public viewing standards. We also have an ongoing project of
developing the archival program by cataloging and stabilizing the
collections. In concurrence with the archives, we will be developing an
online archives department, accessible to members of the society. We
also have ongoing plans for fundraising and promoting the museum to keep
visitors coming. With our continuing projects, we will make history by
preserving history.

How You Can Help
Volunteers, Volunteers, Volunteers are what we need. Being that we

ongoing projects, volunteerism is essential to keep our projects what
they are -- on going. We also necessitate volunteers with expertise in
archival work. Finally, we would like to acquire donations of the
following items:
